The KY039 Infrared Pulsation Sensor is a small, inexpensive plate used to measure the electrical activity of the heart to enable heart rate / pulse checking in different parts of the human body. The data presented by the Sensor is useful for formulating exercise routines or even for studying and verifying heart activity levels.
It is a compact pulse sensor based on an emitter and an infrared receiver, where placing the finger between emitter and receiver can monitor the heartbeat due to the increase in pressure when the heart beats with the consequent volume of blood, where Infrared light crosses the finger allowing for monitoring.
To make it simple to use, the Infrared Pulse Sensor can be used by sportsmen, students, coaches, programmers, game developers, and manufacturers looking to improve their products.
In general, it should be used near the fingertip (easily readable place), and then the module must be fed to the Arduino with 5V voltages and use a specific code for operation. It is important not to leave the local light of lamps directly under the sensor in order to influence and interfere with the values obtained.
