Shield XBee SparkFun

XBee radio modules are an impressive way to add wireless capability to your Arduino project and now it's even easier with the XBee shield SparkFun. This unit works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and 2, standard and Pro versions.

The XBee DIN and DOUT serial pins are connected via an SPDT switch, which allows you to select a connection to any of the standard Arduino D2 and D3 digital pins . The power is taken from the Arduino's 5V pin and regulated on board to 3 , 3VDC before being supplied to XBee. The shield also takes care of level displacement over the XBee DIN and DOUT pins. In the latest revision of the diode level shifter it is replaced by a more robust MOSFET level shifter.

The board also includes LEDs to indicate power and activity on DIN, DOUT , RSSI and XBee DIO5 pins. Arduino reset button is brought out over the shield, and a 0.1 hole 9x11 grid is available for prototyping The shield has no header installed ; .. Stackable Arduino Header Kit recommended. The XBee module is also not included.
