The heart rate monitor with single electrode AD8232 SparkFun is an economical plate used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. This electrical activity can be mapped as an ECG or electrocardiogram and generated as an analog reading.
The heart rate monitor with single electrode AD8232 SparkFun is an economical plate used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. This electrical activity can be mapped as an ECG or electrocardiogram and generated as an analog reading.
ECGs can be extremely noisy, the AD8232 single electrode heart rate monitor acts as an operational amplifier to help you get a clear signal from the PR and QT intervals easily. AD8232 is an integrated signal conditioning block for ECG and other biopotential measurement applications. It is designed to extract, amplify and filter small biopotential signals in the presence of noisy conditions, such as those created by movement or remote placement of electrodes.
The AD8232 Heart Rate Monitor interrupts nine IC connections to which you can weld pins, wires or other connectors. SDN, LO +, LO-, OUTPUT, 3.3 V, GND provide essential pins to operate this monitor with an Arduino or other development board.
RA (right arm), LA (left arm) and RL (right leg) pins are also provided on this board to connect and use your own custom sensors. In addition, there is an LED indicator light that will pulse to the beat of a heartbeat. The biomedical sensor pads and the sensor cable are required to use the cardiac monitor and can be found in the section
